World of Warcraft is history’s largest MMORPG with over 11 million players today. Here is why strategy is so important in this game, more than any other, and a few hints on how to get going.

When you play World of Warcraft, you will want to achieve lots of  fantastic prizes for your efforts. Primarily experience, reputation, rare gear and Gold. But first and foremost you will want to build your character by gaining levels and collecting powerful gear that compliments them. So the most fun will be got out of this game by working out how to level as quickly as possible. While also planning the abilities and gear you want to give yourself.

Be concious of what kind of strategy you want to play when you choose your class – each one has very different gameplay. Whether it’s Mage, Druid, Hunter, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warrior, Warlock, Warrior or Death Knight. Then the race: Drenei, Dwarf, Gnome, Human, Night Elf, Undead, Troll, Tauren, Orc or Blood Elf.

At this time you must make another important consideration – which of the two major warring factions in Azeroth do you want to be;ong to – Alliance or Horde? You can only be certain races if you chose either side, and you can only be certain races if you pick certain classes – so all these decisions come together. If you have friends also playing who you wish to talk to make sure you join the same faction – as the two are at war and characters from opposite sides can’t even talk to eachother.

In addition to the guide, it helps to read a little bit about the different classes and races in the game and try to think on a theoretical level which ones best suit your taste. If you are a “fantasy” gamer, you might choose the same class in other games as you do in WoW. As for race, try not to focus on the technical side such as racial abilities and just pick the race you prefer to play as.

If you are not positive, you might want to try the parent classes such as warrior and mage over hybrids. If you play these first, you will ultimately learn the basics at the same time.

This is important especially if you are doing a series of skills (such as stunning your opponent first then attacking).

Also, you might also want to familiarize yourself with the skills of other classes so you don’t wonder what in the world that warlock did to your character. Once you become familiar with the skills your opponent uses, it will be easier to spot what build they are using.

All in all, not every World of Warcraft strategy guide is worth buying, while some are good, some are just scams.

For some people, the best way to individually discover what works best is to play the game and experience it personally. Don’t be afraid to explore and always consider each day in WoW as practice that will eventually lead you to mastery.
