Online Games – Be Who You Want To Be!

One of the main reasons why people indulge in online gaming is to get away from the reality of their life, at least for a few hours, to a fantasy world. This is what online games are all about! You can put yourself in roles that you find you can’t play in real life and explore whole new worlds.

Everyone gets stressed with life; some more so than others, but everyone is affected by it to some degree, and needs some form of release from it. Online games offer a safe and fun way to release that stress. It is commonly said that the best way of giving your mind a rest is to focus it on something totally different to whatever it is that you’re trying to give it a rest from and, unless your life is totally crazy and unique, there can be few things more different to everyday life than casting spells, joining armies and killing monsters!

Playing online games not only gives a person an outlet for pent up frustrations and anger, it also gives the person an outlet to let go of shyness and the fear of rejection. Hiding behind an avatar, you can meet people who you never otherwise would. You might tell them who you really are or you may choose not to, it’s up to you. The good thing about this is that it gives you the chance to interact with other people on a level where you are all pretty equal, since you are all playing the same game. It also gives you a common ground to begin with – the game – and this can become the foundation of a friendship that can possibly transcend the gaming world.

Then there is the creativity and freedom available. Whether you want to be a magician, a warrior or a myth-like creature, is totally up to you. The choice is yours as to whether you adventure alone or in a group. To fight for good or for evil is decision for you alone to make. In fact, there are literally hundreds of decisions to make and options to choose from, all of which you can see the immediate results of. Whatever your mood is, and whatever you want to achieve, in an online game you can do it.

When you think about it, it’s actually of little surprise that these games are so popular – reality is pretty boring in comparison!

Online Gaming – Are Free Or Paid Games Best?

There are two types of online games – free ones and paid ones. Free online games are referred to as F2P and paid online games are referred to as P2P. Whether F2P or P2P is better is a hotly debated argument that online gamers can’t agree on.

There are good arguments for either side of the debate and, probably, there will never come a time when everyone agrees. If you’re an online gamer yourself, then you may well already have formed your opinions on the matter, but it’s still worth reviewing the points for and against both P2P and F2P.

The simple issue of cost is something that is clearly in favor of F2P games; after all, everyone likes free stuff! The cost of P2P games is often quite reasonable, maybe just or so a month, but that only represents good value if you actually login and play the games regularly. If you only play online games a few times a month, then it can be hard to justify even that outlay. Therefore, for part-time gamers it’s hard to argue against F2P games.

It should be noted though that F2P games are not as free as you might assume they would be. Yes, you can play them without setting up a monthly subscription, but, if you want to make real progress on them, you will probably need to strengthen your character and get specific items for them. This may be achievable through hard work, but, in many cases, the only way to improve or upgrade is to pay. As for P2P games, you will find that weapons, armors and accessories that you need to become stronger can be had in-game without the need to buy them with real cash from an online shop.

The number of players involved in a game is the other major factor to take into consideration as, generally, the more players, the better the gaming experience as there is more action and interactions with others. F2P games tend to attract more players, though there are some exceptions, and you would therefore assume that F2P games win on this issue. However, the ‘quality’ of players is generally better on P2P; they are more involved and more knowledgeable. Therefore, for those gamers who wish to build armies and form alliances, P2P games are better, as the other players will be online more and will be more reliable.

Goozex Review: Videogame Trading Online Hand On

Where do gamers go?

The choices you have as a gamer are:

  1. Buy (Online, Ebay, used, Gamestop..)
  2. Rent (Gamefly, blockbuster…)
  3. Trade (Goozex, Switchplanet..)

Renting in the past at your brick and mortar rental place can easily set you back more then $5-$7 every week like Blockbuster. Many places like Gamefly charge a monthly service fee. Renting isn’t all together bad but playing videogames isn’t like watching movies. There is a considerable larger amount of time invested in videogames then in movies. Most movies range from 1.5 hours to epics of 6 hours. Where most videogames you could get a good feel for a game in 3 hours but most sports games and long role playing games could be played for more then 70 hours.

This is where Goozex Game Trading steps in. Goozex allows the gamer to keep the game as long as you want but have the option to sell it too. There is only a $1 transaction fee if you request a game on their network. So basically you can trade in your older games and build up Goozex credit until you get enough for a newer title and just pay the $1 transaction fee. All shipping costs are handled by the sender so if you are requesting a game you only pay the and not the shipping and handling. No membership fees so no need to feel you need to use the system. This is ideal in the sense that you could play the game until you are actually sick of it then send it in for credit. No hurry as you play and ship at your own pace. Plus you OWN the game. From then on the game is yours, not a rental.

You only send games directly to the next member. There is no single central warehouse and the pricing of the credits of the system are in points (100pts = $5). The pricing of the game is determined by market demand, release date, initial cost of the game, and a couple other factors. Most xbox 360 titles will go for 800-1000 pts which translates to $40-$50. This isn’t bad for a used game. You could probably save a little bit of money if you bought it at a used gaming store but then you would have to pay tax and actually go to the store. Goozex gives you free shipping to you with no tax charge. You can buy games directly but will cost you a premium but then again this money is locked in credits anyways. Price fluctuations occur and you can see the points swings. I’ve had a couple games I requested and I can see that price increase/decrease. It doesn’t happen that much but some games change +/- 200pts depending on market demand.

So why use Goozex instead of a used videogame store or an auction site with games like Ebay? You just need $1 to pay for the transaction fee. Most people don’t like to continually shell out more money for a game and then feel like the games they bought are depreciating at a very fast rate. Selling your game for cash anywhere will not give you that much. Selling it to a store they will mark your game up to make money. Selling it online at an auction site will incur fees and you still have to pay for shipping. You can get great value from Goozex and just trade in games you don’t want with a demand. There might be more difficulty in sending older sports titles as those don’t have much demand once their season is up like trying to sending in EA sports Madden 2005 will be a hard game to sell to someone on the network. Older games on ebay are a hassle to sell. On Goozex you will be able to list it and it will just stay there without having to pay insertion fees.

Each videogame is packed with information like reviews from Gamepro, some tips/trick, game description, and some even have instructions. The best feature is the ability to see how many copies of a game are listed on the network verses how many are being requested. This will let you know if you have a game people want or if you can possibly get a game on the network. The system chooses who gets paired up. There is a waiting list that is generated and when you add a game you will see in what place you are waiting for that game. This is a fabulous idea as impatient gamers can tell if they should expect a game soon. You need to make a list for want and haves for your games. They will show you your place in line per game. This is a good way to build up a wishlist and then have your core set of games your really want now. Building a large list ensures some games will continue to come to you. I was requesting Crackdown for the Xbox 360 and I was 60th person in line. Turns out I got the game in less then 2 weeks. Just because you’re really deep in line doesn’t mean you won’t get the game soon. Newer games do get pushed out in the system fairly quickly. You have many options to what you want to trade in terms of instructions, case or just game. Some people tend to not keep cases or instructions. The value of the game doesn’t go down as the credits don’t reflect what is included. This is because the user requesting the game can have the option to request only full packaged games, games with instructions, or just the game itself. I have not had a problem with getting full packages as I’ve gotten over 49 games and I’ve sent out 54 in under 2 years of being there.

Why NOT to use

For this site to be a perfect 5 star site I would like to see:

1. More users (will there ever be enough?)
2. More old school games (nes, snes, saturn….)
3. is still not free. I’m a member of another site that has no transaction fees yet still protects the members.
4. Video game trailers for each game
5. More community interaction (user reviews, recommendations…)

All the above are small tweaks to the system that is already very functional. The main reason someone would NOT want to use this system is time and money. If you have the dough you would just buy it new down the street? Why wait? Saving money and the community are the main draws to the system. Save money and also connect with other gamers. If you wanted to save money but are impatient then this sits is NOT for you. Most new release games takes on average of 1-2 months. Why? You are placed in a waiting line. The order of the Que determines when you get the new game, but more importantly is how many are available? Most will eventually get bored of their new game and will send them out as “have” games. The wait times do get long. Say you want to play a game that takes a long time to beat. You gotta factor in that a player like me would take over 1 month to beat a game like that. More popular games of course like Madden will hit the system quicker but that is also a bad thing. If you hold a game too long it will depreciate in value just like on the streets. Trading for early on might be for 1000 points but in a couple months with the market being saturated it could be 500 points in no time losing half of it’s value. Not Goozex’s fault but some games just don’t move well.

Current Goozex Simultaneous Transaction on the Network as of Mar 11, 2009 = 4793

The Nintendo DS Model You Have Determines Which R4 DS Card Is Right For You

R4 DS Card

If you are thinking about buying an R4 DS Card, you have to know which version of the R4 DS is right for your version of the NDS.There are numerous versions of the R4 DS Card available.  There are however just 2 main versions of the R4 DS Card, and they can be summed up simply by which Nintendo DS system they will work in.

Once you’ve purchased the right R4 DS Card, you’ll need to learn how to use it.While it is not difficult to set up, a number of people don’t know the steps required to be able to use the R4 DS out of the box.  Instructions are included with all R4 DS Cards, whether you’ve just bought the R4i SDHC or the original R4 DS.You just have to set it up, copying the firmware to the memory card and then putting that into the r4 ds and into your Nintendo DS.

The R4 DS truly is an amazing accessory (and a must have in my books) for your NDS / NDSi system. With it you can do a whole lot more than just having your NDS be a game player. You will be able to do things with your Nintendo DS or DSi that are simply not possible with the the r4 DS Card.  You’ll be able to listen to music (standard MP3 format), read eBooks (why spend money on an eBook reader, when you’ve already got one in the palm of your hand), and also watch your favorite movies / TV Shows with ease.

The R4 DS is the original slot 1 flash card for the Nintendo DS.One of the most, if not THE most popular hombrew / roms player card to be made available. The original R4 DS Card will work in all of the original NDS / NDS Lite systems.

If you have the newest NDSi console, the one with out the gameboy advance slot, then you need to purchase the R4i SDHC.  The R4i SDHC is the only card in the R4 DS Family that will work on the newest Nintendo DSi console.  It’s of the utmost importance that you do not confuse the two version of the R4 DS.

While the R4i is capable of working with the original NDS and NDS Lite console, the R4 DS Card (original) is not compatible with the Nintendo DSi console.  Purchasing the original R4 DS card for your Nintendo DSi will leave you wondering why your new toy doesn’t work.

But unlike standard pmp players, that allow you to just watch movies and listen to some music, you’ll have all of the same features with the added bonus of playing all of the coolest Nintendo DS games… But more than that, you’ll also be able to play the coolest Nintendo DS games too.It makes it much more superior than just a stand alone personal media player.

Will A World Of Warcraft Guide In Reality Increase My Level Fast?

World of warcraft is an online role-playing game where you immerse yourself in the new found world for a character you create. Quests vary with some not worth doing and some being very rewarding – and some are very useful for leveling up faster.

So it’s easy for a player to get distracted and confused as to what to do, which in the end slows their leveling down to a crawl. You will acquire complimentary worthwhile information relating to horde guide here. But the internet is filled with a myriad of world of warcraft guides and choosing one is almost as daunting as the game itself. There are a few tips to consider when finding the right guide for World of Warcraft which are.

1. Does it offer an in game map questing aid? Long gone are the days of using a pdf guide to help you level and do quests efficiently.

Because of the alt tab process it actually slows you down more. Plus the game has evolved and now you can have map aids right within your game as you play, helping to show you where to go and what quest to do.

2. Another is if the World of Warcarft guide covers all the types of races and the fractions? Whats the use of choosing a guide when its helping you on a different class or race. There are good guides out there are are very specific to your needs.

3. Does the guide covers every character and level no matter you choose? Nothing is more frustrating then buying a guide at say level 40, and finding out that it’s more of a hassle then its worth. You will obtain lots of complementary information on joana’s leveling guide here.

Guides that you should pick are the ones that tell you exactly what you want. {Choose wisely, it will (hopefully) be your companion from the start to the end of your campaign in this great game.}
