Here’s the easy way to copy Nintendo Wii games from home
The Nintendo Wii is a popular system that gives you a unique way of playing games. It’s no surprise so many people want to make copies of their own Wii games as backup discs to keep them from being damaged.
While these games come on a disc that looks just like your burnable CDs, you can’t just copy them the same way you’d rip a music CD. There’s more to it than that. Today we’re going to tell you the basics of copying Wii games.
CD copying software can’t produce copies of games the same way you’d copy a music disc. Programs like Nero and other music copying programs just can’t copy these disks. Why? because of the copy protection on the game disc that keeps your computer from being able to make sense of it.
Obviously, it didn’t take long for someone to come up with a workaround. There are programs out there that can read through the copy protection that comes on a Wii disc.
Once you’ve installed this kind of software, copying a game is super easy – your computer is suddenly able to read the data that was unreadable before. This is true for games on just about any system, including the PS3, Xbox 360, and of course the Nintendo Wii.
Once you have found and installed a program to help you break the copyright guards, the program will copy the data on your game as an image on your hard drive. Once you have this disk image on your hard drive, all you need to do is throw in a blank disc into your disc drive, then instruct the program to copy the game onto the disc.
